Introduction to the Sino-Irish International Class Program

The Sino-Irish International Class program is a collaborative effort between South China Agricultural University and University College Dublin (UCD) to offer a comprehensive undergraduate education in biological sciences.

Program Structure and Curriculum

The program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in biological sciences, with the first two years spent at South China Agricultural University and the last two years at UCD. Students will have the opportunity to choose from three specialties at UCD's Agriculture and Food Science College:

  • Forestry
  • Horticulture and Landscape Design and Sports Turf Management

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for the program, students must meet the following requirements:


  • Complete the prescribed teaching courses at South China Agricultural University with excellent grades
  • Meet the English language proficiency requirements:
    • IELTS: overall score of 6.5 or above, with no single band below 6.0
    • TOEFL: 100 or above

Graduation and Degree Awarding

Students who complete the program and meet the graduation requirements will be awarded a Bachelor of Science degree from both South China Agricultural University and UCD.
