The Mechanical and Automotive Institute is a university program designed for students entering grades 7-11. The program offers an early tuition rate of $2,300 per session.

Course Description

In this course, students gain an understanding of how a car engine works. Using state-of-the-art automotive facilities, students learn the safe and proper use of equipment and maintenance techniques, including:

• Tire repair
• Brake maintenance
• How to check and change automotive fluids By the end of the program, students will walk away with a functional model of an engine that they build themselves.

Schedule

This is a full-day program that takes place at the Nassau BOCES Joseph M. Barry Career & Technical Education Center. All classes are held at the Nassau BOCES Barry Tech campus between 10am-3pm.
