The Montanuniversitaet International Relations Office – in short MIRO – is a service facility, which supports Montanuniversitaet in its international processes.

Library services
The library of Montanuniversitaet is a public library. Public services and borrowing are free of charge.

- Work stations with internet access
- Using books and journals in the reading rooms
- Access to e-journals and full texts
- Borrowing books from the library
- Access to academic literature from other libraries through interlibrary loan
- Access to international databases
Medical services
As with every trip abroad, in the case of studying and research in Austria, too, it is important to have a sufficient health insurance that is valid in Austria. People who need a visa or permit for entry to Austria already have to produce proof of health insurance when applying for the visa or permit.

Campus life
There are lots of things to do when you are studying at Montanuniversität. Away from the university and research departments, the city of Leoben has a lively social scene and an amazing range of health and fitness facilities, shops and culture.
Sports facilities
As a balance to academic life, the USI Leoben offers a wide range of sports courses and training for small membership fees. For first-year students, it is a great way to try out new sports and meet fellow students at the same time.
Student clubs
Besides classes and academic life at the university, Leoben features active and flourishing student societies. Students can get involved in study-related, cultural, political or sports clubs and thereby make new contacts and pursue their interests.
