Program Overview
Introduction to the BA, Biological Sciences Program
The BA Biological Sciences degree is designed for students who desire a general background in biology with a high degree of flexibility in courses taken within and outside of the biological sciences. This program is ideal for students who are not considering professional careers in biology but rather careers involving some aspect of biology.
Description of the Program
The BA program can be tailored to prepare students for various career paths, including K-12 teaching programs or as a pre-professional program for pharmacy, optometry, and dental schools. It is also an excellent choice for students wishing to use their training in a business setting with a biology emphasis or in government fields related to biology, such as Fish and Wildlife, Forestry, or the USDA. Additionally, the BA program is suitable for those interested in careers like science writing, science illustration, or as a patent agent.
