Program Overview

TRIO (SSS/ASPIRE) Program

The TRIO (SSS/ASPIRE) Program is an academic affairs program that offers grant assistance and scholarships to qualified participants.


Grant Aid and Scholarships

Grant Aid is financial assistance that TRIO(SSS) offers to qualified participants once a year. To qualify, participants must:


  • Maintain full-time student status during the semester (carrying 12 or more units)
  • Complete at least three counseling appointments per semester
  • Be eligible for the Pell Grant
  • Have a semester GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Have Freshmen or Sophomore standing (59 units and below)
  • Juniors and Seniors do not qualify (60 units+)

The program provides access to various scholarship resources, including:


1. Scholarship Guides

  • College Guide for Indigenous Students: a guide to financial aid and documenting tribal status, including an expert interview on the scholarship application process, a comprehensive list of scholarships and grants for Indigenous students, and details on Indigenous Serving Institutions and Tribal Colleges.

  • Monday to Thursday: 9:00 am - 4:30 pm (in person and virtually, with online hours ending at 5:00 pm)
  • Friday: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
