TRIO (SSS/ASPIRE) Program
The TRIO (SSS/ASPIRE) Program is an academic affairs program that offers grant assistance and scholarships to qualified participants.
Grant Aid and Scholarships
Grant Aid is financial assistance that TRIO(SSS) offers to qualified participants once a year. To qualify, participants must:
- Maintain full-time student status during the semester (carrying 12 or more units)
- Complete at least three counseling appointments per semester
- Be eligible for the Pell Grant
- Have a semester GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Have Freshmen or Sophomore standing (59 units and below)
- Juniors and Seniors do not qualify (60 units+)

The program provides access to various scholarship resources, including:
1. Scholarship Guides
- College Guide for Indigenous Students: a guide to financial aid and documenting tribal status, including an expert interview on the scholarship application process, a comprehensive list of scholarships and grants for Indigenous students, and details on Indigenous Serving Institutions and Tribal Colleges.
2. Scholarship Aggregators

- SJSU Scholarships: useful for all SJSU students, offering scholarships, grants, and more.
- Niche.com: useful for all students (HS, college, etc.), offering scholarships.
- Unigo.com: useful for all college students, offering scholarships.
- Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF): useful for Bay Area (Silicon Valley) college students, offering scholarships and grants.

Program Details
The TRIO (SSS/ASPIRE) Program is located in the Student Services Center 518, One Washington Square, San Jose, CA. The program operates during the following hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 9:00 am - 4:30 pm (in person and virtually, with online hours ending at 5:00 pm)
- Friday: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
