Program Summary
The Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences with Honours at UKM is a 4-year degree program. Biomedical Sciences is a field that explores the science of human biology and medical science. The courses offered provide students with marketable skills and include Phlebotomy, Laboratory Management, Medical Entomology, Community Health, Industrial Training, and Biomedical Science Research. In addition to well-qualified and highly experienced academic staff, experts from the industry also provide valuable sharing sessions. Maintaining the high standard of the program and ensuring accreditation from both the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the internationally recognised Institute for Biomedical Sciences (IBMS), United Kingdom, is a top priority.

English Language Proficiency Requirements
- An international candidate is required to fulfill the English Language proficiency requirements as follows: a) Obtained TOEFL (550), IELTS(6) or MUET (4) results which fulfill the score or minimum band requirements prescribed by the programme; or b) For certain programmes, a candidate is required to sit for an English Proficiency Test (EPT) and if he/she fails to achieve the level specified by the programme, the candidate is required to attend and pass the English Proficiency Module (EPM) in a maximum period of two (2) semesters before he is allowed to register for the study programme. The candidate shall register as a Non-Graduating Student.
- The Faculty/Institute may grant exemption to the requirements specified in subregulation (1) for the international candidate who: a) will be writing his/her thesis/dissertation in the Malay/ Arabic languages; b) has the academic qualifications obtained from any local universities recognised by the Senate; or c) is originally from a country where English is the official language or he/she has the academic qualifications obtained from any higher learning institution which uses English as the medium of instruction.

Life at Faculty
The Faculty of Health Sciences UKM is situated within the city center of Kuala Lumpur. Various facilities including the library, cafeterias, and student lounges are available for the students to study, to have discussion sessions with their peers, or to have a break in between lectures. The hostel accommodation is at the edge of the peaceful green hub surrounding the Titiwangsa Lake Gardens, one of the most scenic sites of Kuala Lumpur. Students will be able to relax or exercise at the park if they require a change of scenery. The program also has a tight-knit relationship with the alumni and industrial stakeholders to help mould the students to become professionals in their career pathway. Being in the family of Biomed@UKM is a wonderful lifetime experience. We believe that every student is like a rough diamond, full of hidden potential that with the right tools, skill, and care, would become most valuable gems that not only sparkle indefinitely but live to inspire as well.
