Introduction to the Junior School Enrichment Programme 2025

The Junior School Enrichment Programme (JSEP) is organized by Pusat PERMATA@Pintar Negara, UKM (PPpN UKM), also known as Malaysia National Gifted Centre, located within the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) campus in Bangi, Selangor. The programme aims to help young kids develop their potential and become critical thinkers who are creative in innovative activities. Course Details

• ASTROKID (GALACTIC DISCOVERIES): This course provides students with opportunities to discover and understand astronomy and astrophysics through both theoretical and practical/observational approaches.
• DNA BARCODING (WONDERGENE: JUNIOR EXPLORERS): This course exposes students to DNA Barcoding tools to identify the species of insects.
• DRONE TECHNOLOGY (SKY EXPLORERS: JUNIOR DRONE ADVENTURERS): This course provides an introduction to explore the skies in drone technology, covering mechanics, principles, and applications.
• JUNIOR AUTOMOTIVE CLUB (JAC): This course uses automotive design and engineering based on the STEM Racing competition to encourage participants to explore all areas of the curriculum while designing, making, testing, and racing a miniature car powered by compressed air.

Programme Structure

The programme has a low instructor-to-student ratio (1:5), enabling instructors and teaching assistants to give more attention to each participant. The academic activities involve lectures, small group discussions, lab work, presentations, visits to labs and research institutes, as well as talks by experts. Participants will stay at the PPpN UKM campus from 8.00 am until 5.00 pm to take part in all activities.

Meals and Security

Special meals can be prepared for students upon request. For security reasons, students are not encouraged to bring their laptops, but they are allowed to bring their mobile phones with limited usage.

Date and Duration

The programme will take place on 13-14 December 2025.

Fee and Package

Each participant will be charged RM300.00 per participation. The charged amount includes programme fees, meal plans, as well as learning and teaching materials.
