Program Overview

Introduction to PERMATA@Pintar Negara

The Malaysian government has developed a special program called Program PERMATA@Pintar Negara to cater to the learning needs of gifted and talented students. Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) has been entrusted to develop, implement, and monitor this program, which was launched on April 3, 2009. The Pusat PERMATA@Pintar Negara, UKM is the only center of excellence in Malaysia responsible for identifying gifted and talented students from all over the country and providing them with opportunities to develop their potential and talents.

Main Programs

The center has four main programs:

• Program Pencarian dan Pengurusan Bakat (Talent Search and Management Program)
• Program Pengayaan (Enrichment Program)
• Kolej PERMATA@Pintar Negara (PERMATA@Pintar National College)
• Program ASASIpintar UKM (ASASIpintar UKM Program, a pre-university program)

Educational Philosophy

The national educational philosophy in Malaysia is a continuous effort to develop the potential of individuals in a holistic and integrated manner to create a balanced and harmonious person in terms of intellect, spirit, emotions, and physical aspects, based on faith and obedience to God. This effort aims to produce Malaysian citizens who are knowledgeable, skilled, morally upright, responsible, and capable of achieving personal well-being and contributing to the harmony and prosperity of their families, communities, and the nation.

• Bersemangat dan mempunyai iltizam yang tinggi (being spirited and having high commitment)
