Introduction to the High School Enrichment Program

The High School Enrichment (HSEP) Program, also known as Pengayaan Sekolah Menengah (PPSM), is designed to meet the learning needs of gifted and talented students in Malaysia. Developed by PERMATA@Pintar Negara, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (PPPN-UKM), this program aims to challenge the minds of gifted students.

Program Overview

The Program Pengayaan Cuti Sekolah (PPCS) PERMATA@Pintar UKM is a two-week program implemented during the school holidays. The program's foundation is based on the National Education Philosophy, which emphasizes holistic student development in terms of physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, and social aspects.

Program Structure

The program is conducted by trained educators, teaching assistants, and student assistants who have received special training from UKM experts, including training at the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) in the United States. During the camp, students participate in academic and co-curricular activities, including arts and sports, spiritual programs aligned with their respective religions, and educational visits.

Eligibility and Selection

Selected students, aged between 9 and 12 years, are chosen from diverse ethnic and socio-cultural backgrounds based on two screening tests: UKM1 and UKM2.

Course Offerings

Participants will follow one of the 40 courses offered, reflecting the program's commitment to providing enrichment and acceleration programs that empower gifted students for lifelong learning.
