Introduction to the Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours

The Physiotherapy Program at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) is designed to produce Physiotherapy Medical Rehabilitation Officers or Physiotherapists. These professionals are key members of the health science profession, providing services to individuals and communities to improve, maintain, or restore optimal movement and functional ability throughout the lifespan.

Career Prospects

Physiotherapists have a wide range of career opportunities, including:

• Government, private, and overseas hospitals and health clinics
• Rehabilitation centers in the community
• SOCSO rehabilitation centers
• Public and private university clinics
• Physiotherapy instructors at public/private universities or Ministry of Health colleges
• Private physiotherapy practitioners

Program Accreditation

The program complies with the Allied Health Professions Act 2016.

Entry Requirements

General Requirements

• Complete 12 years of primary and high school education
• Obtain a high school certificate (e.g., Higher Secondary Certificate, Senior Secondary School Graduation Certificate, Tawjihiyah, Ijazah Sekolah Menengah Atas, High School Diploma)
• Meet the minimum English requirement set by the faculty
• Pass the UKM interview (if required)
• Meet faculty-specific requirements

Program Requirements

• Required subjects: Any three of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Physics
• The General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level
• International Baccalaureate Diploma with 32 points overall and a score of 3 in two Higher Level subjects

• TOEFL iBT 46
• Cambridge English Qualification - B2 First 160-179
• Cambridge English Qualification - C1 Advanced 180-199
• Cambridge English Qualification - C2 Proficiency 200-300

Fees Structure

Malaysian

• First Semester: RM 2,390.00
• Subsequent Semesters: RM 1,190.00
• Total (minimum 8 semesters): RM 10,720.00

Malaysian UKMi

• Registration Fees: RM 2,000.00
• Study Fees: RM 10,400.00
• Subsequent Semesters: RM 8,600.00
• Total Fees (minimum 8 semesters): RM 72,600.00

International

• Registration Fees: RM 2,520.00
• Study Fees: RM 12,400.00
• Subsequent Semesters: RM 11,800.00
• Total Fees (minimum 8 semesters): RM 97,520.00
