Program Details
The Youth Abroad Expedition #8 (YAE 8) program was hosted by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Kampus Kuala Lumpur (UKM KKL) in collaboration with the Faculty of Dentistry and the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Program Objectives
- To provide understanding and share sustainable practices in the university
- To strengthen international networking in the agenda of sustainable development
- To establish academic cooperation and enhance knowledge sharing in the field of education, particularly in sustainable practices in campus management
Program Activities
- Sharing of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) projects at UKM KKL
- Sharing session by the Center for Advanced and Professional Education (UKMShape) to promote and provide information on admission methods for international students to UKM
- Green Idea Exchange session, which allowed participants to exchange views on green campus practices and opportunities for cooperation in the field of sustainability
- Visit to several sustainable initiatives developed at UKM KKL, including recycling stations, green drink bottles, Edibel@FGG at the Faculty of Dentistry, Eco-Campus at the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Pharmacy, and a demonstration of coffee waste-based fertilizer production through the Molar Lestari project
- Participation in herb and vegetable planting activities as a symbol of support for sustainability efforts on the UKM KL campus
Program Outcomes
The program successfully achieved its objectives of increasing awareness, expanding knowledge, and strengthening the involvement of young people in addressing global and local issues. This initiative reflects UKM's commitment to strengthening global education and promoting sustainable practices to the younger generation.
