Bachelor of Social Science with Honors (Psychology)

Introduction

The psychology program provides an understanding of the way humans behave by deepening cognition, feelings, and perceptions, including human biological processes. Students will be exposed to basic knowledge of psychology, such as behavioral problems and mental disorders. Students have the opportunity to become experts in the field of psychology by continuing their studies to the master's and doctorate levels.

Course Learning Outcome (CLO)

1. To produce graduates who are versatile, possess relevant professional traits, are marketable, and have a lifelong learning mindset.
2. To generate, disseminate, and preserve knowledge at the global level, with a national framework.
3. To advance graduates who balance foundational and applied knowledge.
4. To contribute expertise in the development and implementation of policies and programs at national, regional, and international levels.

Entry Requirement

• STPM:
  • Science Stream:
    • Obtained at least a CGPA of 3.00 at the STPM level
    • Obtained at least a Grade B- (NGMP of 2.67) at the STPM level in any two of the following subjects:
      • Biology
      • Physics
      • Chemistry
      • Information and Communications Technology
      • Mathematics M / Mathematics T
    • Obtained at least a Grade C / Grade 6C at the SPM level in the subjects:
      • Mathematics / Additional Mathematics
      • Any one of the following science subjects:
        • Science / Additional Science
        • Biology
        • Physics
        • Chemistry
    • Obtained at least a pass at the SPM level in the subjects:
      • English
    • Achieve at least Band 3.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for the examination starting session 1 of 2021
    • Pass the test and/or interview set by the faculty
  • Arts Stream:
    • Obtained at least a CGPA of 3.00 at the STPM level
    • Obtained at least a Grade B- (NGM 2.67) at the STPM level in any two of the following subjects:
      • Bahasa Malaysia
      • Arabic
      • History
      • Geography
      • Communicative Malay Literature
      • Literature in English
      • Economics
      • Sharia
      • Usuluddin
      • Accounting
      • Business Studies
    • Obtained at least a Grade C / Grade 6C at the SPM level in the subjects:

• DIPLOMA:
  • Possess a relevant Diploma from an Educational Institution recognized by the University and the Malaysian Government and obtain a minimum CGPA of 3.00
  • Candidates are required to submit academic transcripts from Semester one (1) to the final Semester
  • Obtain at least Band 3.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for examinations beginning in Session 1 of 2021
  • Pass the test and/or interview set by the faculty
• APEL-A:
  • Pass the Malaysian Education Certificate (SPM) with credits in Malay Language / Malaysia Language subject or credits in Malay Language / Malaysia Language in July papers and pass history subjects
  • MQA APEL Certificate with a Level 6 MQF
  • Obtained at least an Honour at the SPM level in the following subject:
    • Mathematics
  • Obtain at least Level 3 (Band 3) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)
  • Pass in tests and/or interviews for admission as required by faculty
