Bachelor of Social Science with Honors (Geography)

The Geography program offers knowledge that combines the core of social sciences (human geography) and natural sciences (physical geography). Graduates acquire theoretical and practical knowledge as well as skills in geospatial technology, scientific research, and appreciation of environmental values and human life. Graduates will be able to synthesize geographical knowledge related to sustainable development and environmental sustainability.

Program Objective

1. To strengthen geographical knowledge in terms of theory and practice.
2. To produce graduates who are capable of analyzing, understanding, and addressing current issues related to the environment, humans, and development.

Course Learning Outcome

1. HPP1: Able to describe knowledge and understanding of psychological theories and principles as well as the latest psychological research methods from scholarly sources.
2. HPP2: Apply basic research methods in psychology, including study design, data analysis, and interpretation in various fields of specialization.
3. HPP3: Use analytical, critical, and creative thinking, as well as a scientific approach to solve problems related to human behavior and mental processes.
4. HPP4: Able to communicate and convey information, ideas, and psychological problems to the general public.
5. HPP5: Apply social skills and responsibility in understanding personal, organizational, and social problems, taking into account cross-cultural and international diversity aspects.
6. HPP6: Acquire and manage information for research and lifelong learning.
7. HPP7: Apply basic management and entrepreneurship skills.
8. HPP8: Apply ethical and professional principles in all aspects of psychology, including being aware of the limitations of their psychological knowledge and skills.
9. HPP9: Apply leadership skills and be able to work effectively in a team.

Entry Requirement

• Diploma: A recognized diploma from an educational institution accredited by the University and the Government of Malaysia with a minimum CGPA of 3.00.
• STPM / Matriculation / Foundation: Attainment of at least a CGPA of 3.00 or a minimum grade of C+ (NGMP 2.33) in the following subjects at the STPM / KPM Matriculation / Foundation level:
  • Malay Language / History / Geography / Malay Literature / Economics / Business Studies / Accounting
• MUET: At least MUET Band 2
• APEL:
  1. Obtained the MQA APEL Certification with Level 6 attainment.
  2. MUET: At least MUET Band 2
