Program Overview


Master of Strategic Communication

The Master of Strategic Communication program aims to produce high-quality individuals in the field of strategic communication. The focus of this program is on developing individuals' abilities as designers, implementers, and evaluators of communication impacts in line with the development of media and communication technology.


Introduction

Participants of the program will be provided with the latest knowledge and skills to face diverse communication situations. They will become individuals who are creative, critical, and innovative in integrating strategic communication elements and communication technology. They will also strive to connect the knowledge they have acquired with real-world contexts in a holistic manner and make recommendations to the government, private sector, and society. As a result, program graduates will have a high level of competitiveness in the communication industry.

Learning Outcomes

  1. LO1: Students are able to apply knowledge and evaluate various communication elements and media channels to implement strategic communication plans.
  2. LO2: Students are able to identify and apply theories of media and strategic communication in real-world contexts.
  3. LO3: Students are able to establish and maintain collaborative networks with supervisors, fellow researchers, and research communities from other institutions worldwide in the field of strategic communication.
  4. LO4: Students demonstrate a broad understanding and deep awareness of issues related to intellectual property, copyright, research ethics, data protection legislation, and the implications of misinformation.
  5. LO5: Students are able to independently, creatively, innovatively, and systematically acquire knowledge in the field of strategic communication.
  6. LO6: Students are able to demonstrate and understand critical analysis methods and problem-solving skills in relation to challenging media and technology phenomena.
  7. LO7: Students are able to effectively manage information by setting and achieving objectives in the field of strategic communication.
  8. LO8: Students are able to identify and conduct research in the field of media technology and strategic communication that can be leveraged for intellectual property and commercialization.

Entry Requirements

  1. Minimum CGPA of 3.00 at undergraduate level OR take APEL A approval using relevant work experience (if GPA below 3.00)
  2. English Language Approval (for international students):
  • IELTS minimum band 6.0
  • TOEFL minimum band 6.0
  • MUET minimum band 4.0
