Doctor in Paediatric Dentistry

Programme Summary

The Doctor in Paediatric Dentistry programme requires applicants to first complete the Master of Applied Sciences in Dentistry programme. The next intake for this programme will be in October 2025 for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Duration of Program

The programme duration is 3 years (6 semesters), and it is available on a full-time basis only.

Mode of Study

The mode of study for this programme is coursework.

Admission

The programme is open to local and international candidates.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for admission, applicants must:

• Possess an undergraduate dental degree (DDS, BDS) or equivalent that is recognized by UKM Senate;
• Possess a Master of Applied Sciences in Dentistry degree, or equivalent that is recognized by UKM Senate;
• Be registered with the Malaysian Dental Council (MDC) and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC), or for international students, be registered with the dental regulatory body in another country and eligible to be granted a Temporary Practising Certificate (TPC) by MDC;
• Have at least two (2) full years of experience in general dental practice after graduation;
• Meet the English Language qualification with a minimum score of TOEFL 550 (paper-based, PBT), or 80 (internet-based, iBT), or 213 (computer-based, CBT); IELTS Band 6.0 with the validation of certificate within 2 years from the date of the test;
• Pass the health check as required by UKM;
• Pass the interview (either face-to-face or through online communication);
• Meet other requirements as stated in the UKM Regulation (Postgraduate studies).

Fees

The programme fees are as follows:

• Malaysian: 270,000 Malaysian Ringgit (MYR)
• International: 540,000 Malaysian Ringgit (MYR)
