Master of Dental Science (MDSc)
Level of Study
The Master of Dental Science (MDSc) program is offered at the Master's level, equivalent to Level 7 of the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF).
Duration of Program
The duration of the program varies depending on the mode of study:
- Full-time: Minimum 4 semesters, maximum 6 semesters
- Part-time (for local candidates only): Minimum 6 semesters, maximum 10 semesters

- Healthcare or allied health science practitioners
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for the program, candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree with a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.00 from UKM or any institution of higher learning recognized by the UKM Senate.
- Doctor of Dental Surgery or equivalent degree recognized by the UKM Senate.
- Bachelor's degree with a CGPA of 2.60 to 2.99 and fulfillment of one of the following criteria:
- Research or working experience in a related field for 1 year
- Has produced academic publications in a related field
- A UKM graduate
- Bachelor's degree with a CGPA of 2.60 to 2.99 and fulfillment of one of the following criteria:
- Research or working experience in a related field for 5 years
- One academic publication in a related field
- For international candidates, an English language proficiency test score of:
- Minimum 550 (paper-based, PBT) or 80 (internet-based, iBT) or 213 (computer-based, CBT) for TOEFL
- Band 6.0 for IELTS
- Band 4 for MUET
- Pearson Test of English (PTE - Academic) is 51
- Cambridge English Qualifications is 160
- Passing an interview at the Faculty level
- Meeting other requirements set by the University Senate, as stipulated in the UKM Acts and Regulations (Graduate Studies)
