Program Overview


Doctor of Medicine UKM - UNPAD

The Doctor of Medicine UKM - UNPAD program is a 5-year undergraduate program that offers students the opportunity to study abroad and earn two degrees: Doctor of Medicine from UKM and Sarjana Kedokteran from UNPAD.


Overview

This program is certified by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC), which are the highest level of accreditation bodies in Malaysia. The program provides students with the chance to study in one of the top 1% universities in the world, with UKM ranked 141st in QS World Ranking 2020/2021 and 35th in QS Asia Ranking 2021.


Objectives

The program aims to produce well-rounded medical professionals who are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to excel in their field.


Entry Requirements

To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet the following requirements:


  • Complete 12 years of primary and high school education
  • Obtain a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Meet the minimum English requirement set by the faculty
  • Pass the UKM interview (if required)
  • Meet faculty-specific requirements

Programme Requirements

The program requires applicants to have a strong foundation in science subjects, including biology, chemistry, and mathematics or physics. The specific requirements are as follows:


  • Required subjects: 3 subjects (biology, chemistry, and mathematics or physics)
  • The General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level: AAB or (UKM-UNPAD: BBB, ABC, AAC)
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma: 37 points overall (UKM-UNPAD: 34 points)
  • The General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level: Grade B in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics or additional mathematics, and one other subject

The program is 5 years long, with 2 years spent at UNPAD and 3 years spent at UKM.
