The Managerial Accounting course presents the theory and technique of managerial accounting from the perspective of the manager.
Description
The course covers the identification and analysis of the behavior of costs within the organization and illustrates how managers use such knowledge for planning and control. Major topics include:
- Responsibility accounting
- Comprehensive and cash budgeting
- Standard job order and process cost systems
- Cost-volume-profit analysis
- Cost allocation
- Activity-based costing
- Standard costs
- Variance analysis

Prerequisites
Open to College of Management students only. Non-MGT major degree students in partner programs may register for this course starting 01/05/2026. Guest students and non-partner program students may submit registration requests starting 01/15/2026. Requirements include AF 210 and a minimum of 15 credits for MGT majors only.
