MSN Program
The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program is designed to prepare students for leadership roles in the field of nursing. The program offers several specialty tracks, including:

Program Outcomes
The MSN program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and is approved by the Texas Board of Nursing.
Accreditation
The baccalaureate degree in nursing, master's degree in nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice, and post-graduate APRN certificate programs at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Nursing are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street NW, Washington, DC 20001.
Program Details
- The MSN program is designed to be completed in a hybrid format, combining online courses with on-campus instruction.
- The program offers a range of specialty tracks, including Family Nurse Practitioner and Nursing Leadership.
- Students in the MSN program have the opportunity to work with health-professions peers in UTHealth Houston's five other schools and to collaborate with health systems within the world-famous Texas Medical Center and throughout the state.
Postgraduate Options
Once students have earned their MSN degree, they can enhance their knowledge and skills through the university's nondegree postgraduate Nursing Education track. Family Nurse Practitioner students may concurrently study in the Emergency Nurse Practitioner track, and students who are already nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, or nurse anesthetists may prepare for certification in a different specialty area.
