Introduction to the BSN-DNP Family Nurse Practitioner Track

The BSN-DNP Family Nurse Practitioner track is designed to prepare baccalaureate-degree nurses for the nurse practitioner role, focusing on primary care for individuals and families across the lifespan. The program emphasizes health promotion, risk reduction, disease prevention, and illness management, aiming to produce clinical scholars, leaders, and providers of innovative person/population-centered primary health care.

Program Overview

• The program focuses on interprofessional partnerships and developing competencies in advanced evidence-based nursing practice, quality improvement, and safety.
• It leads to improved systems of care and enhanced health outcomes.
• Students may choose to add an optional emergency concentration to the FNP track, which prepares graduates to provide care in emergency departments/centers.
