The McGovern Medical School offers its students the opportunity to participate in a core surgery rotation curriculum, which includes a rotation on the cardiothoracic and vascular surgery service line at the Memorial Hermann Heart and Vascular Institute-Texas Medical Center.
Program Details
Rotation Curriculum
The core surgery rotation curriculum provides students with hands-on experience in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery. Additional clinical and research elective rotations are available on a selective basis, allowing students to further explore their interests and gain specialized knowledge.
Research Opportunities
Summer research internships are available for interested premedical and medical students, providing them with the opportunity to engage in research projects and gain valuable experience. Some electives are sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), further enhancing the research opportunities available to students.
