• Each incoming fellow is matched with a dedicated faculty mentor.
• The mentor provides direction and support for developing and completing the ACGME-mandated scholarly project.

Benefits and Resources

• Non-Clinical Time: One non-clinical day each month.
• Calls: 2 weekday calls during "Operating Room Rotations" with no weekend calls.
• Moonlighting Opportunities: Fellows have the option to moonlight on weekends as per ACGME policy.
• Books: Fellows are provided with educational materials, including books and pediatric stethoscopes.
• Library: Electronic access to the Texas Medical Center Library.
• Salary: Competitive salary with benefits.
• Feedback: Regular feedback sessions every quarter using tools for fellow evaluation.
• Vacation: 21 days, including time off to attend the SPA-AAP Pediatric Anesthesiology Annual Meeting and to interview for future career opportunities.
• Sick Days: 12 working days per contract year with a rollover cap of 30 working days.
• Educational Leave: 7 days per contract year.
• Interview Days: 5 days.
• Educational Allowance: $500, with an additional allowance of $500 if presenting at a conference.
• Wellness Allowance: $1000.
• White Coats: Provided by the department.
