Resident and Fellow Research Program
The Department of Anesthesiology at McGovern Medical School offers research training programs for residents and fellows. The Resident Research Program (RRP) requires all anesthesia residents to participate in an academic project during the clinical anesthesiology years of training; and the Scholars Program offers a formal research track for those interested in becoming a clinician-scientist.
In addition to the above formal training program, the department strongly advocates research activities for all residents and fellows. The department offers a well-rounded mentoring program and provides assistance for residents and fellows to develop a research concept and study design. The department also offers statistics counseling, IRB preparation, manuscript preparation and publication assistance, and help with grant writing, review, and proposals.
