Cardiovascular Advanced Practice Series

The Cardiovascular Advanced Practice Series is a two-part online, self-paced series designed to prepare nurse practitioners and physician assistants for the Certified Cardiovascular Knowledge Examination. The series provides didactic instruction to support in-person clinical fellowships and training, in accordance with the 2020 cardiovascular advanced provider knowledge competencies defined by the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association.


Part 2 - All Courses

Registering for Part 2 gives advanced practice providers access to all nine courses, providing a comprehensive overview of cardiovascular care. Students earn a total of 20 contact hours of nursing continuing professional development.


Individual Courses

Students may choose to register for individual courses that focus on specific topics related to cardiovascular care. Contact hours vary depending on the number of one-hour modules in each course.


  • Course 12: Electrophysiology (2 contact hours)
  • Course 13: Tissue Oxygenation (2 contact hours)
  • Course 14: Cardiovascular and Critical Care Pharmacology (5 contact hours)
  • Course 15: Heart Failure I (2 contact hours)
