Program Overview
Introduction to the PM&R Residency Program
The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at McGovern Medical School is pleased to announce that its 3-year Advanced Residency Program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation will be transitioning to a 4-year Categorical Program, effective immediately.
Program Details
The new 4-year Categorical Program will commence with the recruitment of four PGY-1 positions in the 2017 NRMP Match. The first year of the program will consist of an internship based on Internal Medicine and its subspecialties, during which residents will rotate through several academic hospital partners, including:
- Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center
- TIRR Memorial Hermann Rehabilitation System
- Harris Health
Program Vision and Mission
This change is expected to help the department develop its vision and mission, and will enable the program to recruit the best and brightest candidates into the specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
