Cytopathology Fellowship

The Cytopathology Fellowship is a one-year program accredited by ACGME for one position. The program offers advanced cytopathology training in diagnostic cytology, including gynecologic and nongynecologic cytology.


Program Description

The program includes training in:


  • Gynecologic cytology, with a focus on liquid-based, thin-layer slide preparations and conventional smears
  • Nongynecologic cytology, with a focus on fluids, urines, and bronchial-pulmonary specimens
  • Fine needle aspirations, including superficial sites and image-guided and endoscopic ultrasonographically-guided FNA's
  • Routine cytopreparatory methods and ancillary techniques, such as microbiologic cultures, reflex HPV-testing, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and molecular pathology
