Doctor of Clinical Nutrition (DCN)

The Profession of Dietetics

The profession of dietetics is operating in what is referred to as a VUCA world. The concept of VUCA is a term coined by the US Military, and describes environments marked by volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity. VUCA has many implications for the future of dietetic practice and "Registered Dietitian Nutritionists and NDTRs need to think in new ways to be effective leaders and contributors within interprofessional teams and to continually seek opportunities to lead, learn and grow" (Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Council on Future Practice, 2020). UTMB's DCN program can help you do just that!
