Introduction to the Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Program

The Allergy and Immunology fellowship program at The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston is a two-year training program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). This conjoint program is offered by the Allergy & Immunology Division of the Department of Internal Medicine and the Division of Infectious Diseases and Immunology of the Department of Pediatrics.


Program Overview

Started in 1970, UTMB is one of the oldest Allergy and Immunology programs in the country, with a rich tradition of providing quality patient care, educational excellence, and training future leaders in the field. The program exposes fellows to a large spectrum of allergic and immunologic conditions, including hypersensitivity disorders, severe asthma, atopic dermatitis, eosinophilic disorders, and immunodeficiencies.


Faculty and Staff

The core faculty for this program includes six full-time physicians who are board-certified in Allergy and Immunology.


Clinical Experience

The program's clinics are located in Galveston and nearby League City, providing fellows with diverse clinical experiences. Fellows also provide care for patients at the Texas Department of Corrections Hospital located on the UTMB campus.
