The university program in question is focused on improving patient outcomes in obstetric emergencies. A unique simulation suite has been created to provide hands-on training for medical students, residents, and nurses in obstetrics and gynecology. This suite is equipped with high-fidelity simulation mannequins and is complemented by an interactive web-based program called "Design A Case."
Program Details
The program includes periodic, unplanned obstetric drills that focus on the following areas:
- Maneuvers for vaginal breech delivery
- Managing and controlling postpartum hemorrhaging
- Eclamptic seizures
- Shoulder dystocia
- CPR during pregnancy
Participation and Frequency
Residents have the opportunity to participate in these drills approximately six times per year. The program is designed to provide realistic and risk-free training for difficult obstetric emergencies.
