Admission
Admission Application Instructions
Applying for admission to the graduate program in Communication Studies is a two-step process:
- Complete the Online Application
- Fill out and submit the Graduate Program portion of the application.
- An email will be sent with a link to setup an account and finish the application.
- Complete the rest of the application fields and submit.
- Request Official Scores and Transcripts
- Request official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended (excluding University of Montana).
- Transcripts may also be transmitted electronically through the National Student Clearinghouse.
Application Requirements
As part of the application process, applicants must:
- Self-report all colleges and universities attended (including grade point average).
- Obtain three letters of recommendation, preferably from college instructors who have directly evaluated the applicant's academic performance.
- Upload a one-page statement outlining the reasons for seeking a master's degree in Communication Studies.
- Upload a writing sample: any academic essay or report that the applicant is especially proud of.
- Upload a resume.
- Pay the application fee.
Application Deadlines
- Fall: Priority will be given to complete application packets received by February 1. Complete application packets received after this date will be considered on a space-available basis.
- Spring: Priority will be given to complete application packets received by November 1. Complete application packets received after this date will be considered on a space-available basis.
