Normal Course Duration
The normal course duration for the Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (with specialisations) (Honours) is four years full-time (eight sessions). The Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (with specialisations) is also four years full-time (eight sessions). These courses are 256-point full-time equivalent courses.
Admission Criteria
To be eligible for the Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (with specialisations) (Honours), students must achieve grades of Credit or above in at least 50% of first and second-level subjects and at least a Pass level for all remaining subjects. Selection into the Honours stream will depend upon high academic merit and the availability of supervisors and research topics.
For the Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (with specialisations), admission criteria include:
- Completed High School Certificate with an ATAR of 70 (including adjustment factors) or equivalent
- Successful completion of two university-level subjects (AQF level Associate Degree or higher) demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies
- A completed AQF Certificate IV or higher level qualification
- 50% completion of an AQF Diploma level qualification
- A completed Tertiary Preparation Course from an Australian University or an accredited provider demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies
- English Language Proficiency: An Academic IELTS of 6.5 with no score below a 6.0 in each of the individual skill areas or a qualification deemed equivalent
Credit
CSU credit rules apply to both the Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (with specialisations) (Honours) and the Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (with specialisations).
Graduation Requirement
To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete 256 points for both the Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (with specialisations) (Honours) and the Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (with specialisations).

Professional Accreditation
The Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Medical Imaging), Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Nuclear Medicine), and Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Radiation Therapy) have been accredited with conditions by the Medical Radiation Practice Accreditation Committee. On graduation, CSU graduates are able to register with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA). Graduates of the medical imaging and radiation therapy specialisations are also eligible to become members of the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT). Graduates of the nuclear medicine specialisation are eligible for membership of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine (ANZSNM).
