- Full-time: 1.0 year (2.0 sessions)
- Part-time: 2.0 years (4.0 sessions)
- Bachelor of Liberal Studies (Arts):
- Full-time: 3.0 years (6.0 sessions)
- Part-time: 6.0 years (12.0 sessions)
- Associate Degree in Liberal Studies (Arts):
- Full-time: 2.0 years (4.0 sessions)
- Part-time: 4.0 years (8.0 sessions)
Admission Criteria
Applicants for the Bachelor of Liberal Studies (Arts) must meet the following requirements:
- An ATAR of 70 (including adjustment factors)
- Successful completion of two university-level subjects (AQF level Associate Degree or higher) demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies
- A completed AQF Certificate III or higher level qualification
- 50% completion of an AQF Diploma level qualification
- Successful completion of a Tertiary Preparation Course from an Australian University or an accredited provider demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies
- Two years full-time (or equivalent) work experience that meets the following requirement: the ability to demonstrate the development of literacy, analytical skills, and social-historical knowledge
English Language Proficiency
Standard English Language Proficiency requirements apply.
Credit
CSU Credit Regulations apply to all awards. No other special arrangements apply.
Articulation
The Bachelor, Associate Degree, and University Certificate make up an articulated set of courses, and credit is given in each higher-level course for the subjects completed in the lower.
Graduation Requirements
To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete the following points:
- Bachelor of Liberal Studies (Arts): 192 points
- Associate Degree in Liberal Studies (Arts): 128 points
- University Certificate in Liberal Studies (Arts): 64 points
Course Structure
The Bachelor of Liberal Studies (Arts) requires students to satisfactorily complete 192 points (normally equal to 24 subjects). The course structure includes:
- Completion of COM120 Reasoning and Writing
- Completion of 1 indigenous studies subject (either IKC101 or IKC102)
- Remaining subjects chosen from within the Faculty of Arts & Education, with up to 8 subjects (64 points) taken from outside the Faculty of Arts and Education if desired
- No more than 10 Level 1 subjects (80 points) and at least 5 Level 3 subjects (40 points)
