Program Overview
The Master of Ethics and Legal Studies is a comprehensive program that encompasses core subjects, compulsory subjects, and restricted electives. The program is designed to provide students with a deep understanding of ethical theory, Australian law, and legal systems, as well as human rights.
Course Structure
The program consists of:
- Core Subjects:
- PHL402 Ethical Theory
- LAW540 Australian Law and Legal System
- Compulsory Subject:
- PHL502 Law, Ethics and Human Rights
- Restricted Electives:
- Students can choose either nine restricted electives, with at least four from List A and at least four from List B
- Or five restricted electives and a Dissertation of 15,000-20,000 words (32 points) (PHL506 or LAW550), with at least 24 points in both Ethics and Law
Admission Criteria
To be eligible for the program, students must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor degree
- Or a minimum of a TAFE Diploma/Certificates and/or work history that demonstrates holding a senior position, demonstrating relevant work experience
Credit and Articulation
- The program follows the CSU Credit Policy, with no special arrangements applying
- The Master, Graduate Diploma, and Graduate Certificate make up an articulated set of courses, with credit given in each higher-level course for subjects completed in the lower level
Graduation Requirements
To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete 96 points.
Availability and Duration
The Master of Ethics and Legal Studies is available online, with a normal course duration of:
- Full-time: 1.5 years (3.0 sessions)
