Program Overview


Associate Degree in Policing Practice

The Associate Degree in Policing Practice is an entry course to the NSW Police Force. The program integrates field-based education with classroom and distance education study and is focused on the practical application of the applied skills necessary for the modern policing professional. Field placement undertaken as a Probationary Constable with the NSW Police Force forms an integral part of the Associate Degree and gives an insight into the practical application of the theoretical foundations of the course.

Admission Criteria

The minimum academic entry standard for all applicants is successful completion of the University Certificate in Workforce Essentials (UCWE). The total maximum academic score an applicant can achieve is 40 points, which is a combination of the UCWE grade with other academic qualifications. Academic eligibility is only one component contributing to an applicant's progression into the eligibility pool, other components are assessed through the NSW Police Force recruitment process.


Credit

8 credit points (PPP20C Practical Policing) are awarded at the completion of Session 5, recognizing proficiency credit in operational policing.


Graduation Requirements

To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete 128 points.
