Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine (Honours) Integrated Honours
The Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine (Honours) prepares graduates for professional practice or further study. Graduates are competent and ethical practitioners, capable of sustainable and evidence-based practice in both independent and interprofessional contexts. The course has a strong emphasis on clinical podiatry. Graduates have extensive workplace experience in public health and private practice settings. Honours graduates develop research skills and make a contribution to practice knowledge. The course has been developed to meet the requirements of the Podiatry Board of Australia, and national registration enables graduates to work in all states and territories of Australia.

Admission Criteria

- Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine (Honours): In order to be considered for Honours at the end of year two, students must achieve a minimum grade point average of 5.0
- Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine:
- Assumed knowledge for NSW HSC students is Physics and Biology.
- Non-recent school leavers are required to submit a written application indicating their interest in, and motivation for studying, podiatry; any relevant work experience; and any evidence of success at tertiary or other studies.
- These applicants also have the option of sitting the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT).
- The Faculty of Science provides science support for its students, especially for non-recent school leavers through the University's STUDY LINK programs.

Graduation Requirements
- Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine (Honours): To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 256 points.
- Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine: To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 256 points.
Course Structure
The course consists of 256 points. At the end of 2nd year, students can choose - dependent upon satisfying minimum requirements - to complete the Honours stream or remain in the pass degree. Entry into Honours is dependant on the availability of appropriate supervisors and resources required to support the project.

Accreditation
The course has been developed to meet the requirements of the Podiatry Board of Australia and the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA). Accreditation/recognition of the podiatry course is a legal/statutory requirement in all states and territories of Australia and graduates cannot practice Podiatry unless the course has been evaluated by the Australian and New Zealand Podiatry Accreditation Committee (ANZPAC).
The Podiatry course at CSU is currently recognised by all states and territories of Australia, and the UK (via Podiatry Board of Australia mutual recognition). It is also recognised in New Zealand via trans-Tasman mutual recognition legislation.
Current ANZPAC course accreditation is valid until 30 January 2018.
