Admission Criteria
Selection for entry to the Bachelor of Dental Science is a two-stage process, with applicants first being selected for interview based on their UMAT (Undergraduate Medical Admissions Test) score (domestic students) or GPA (international applicants). Following the interview, applicants will be selected for an offer based on a combination of their UMAT score and interview outcome; ATAR/GPA may be used to rank applicants with identical UMAT scores. The selection criteria include:
- A demonstrated interest in, and understanding of, rural and regional Australia, oral health inequalities, and dental practice within these regions
- High-level academic ability
- The capacity to communicate effectively
- Evidence of skill in manual dexterity and spatial sense
- Evidence of the understanding of teamwork and motivation to become a dental practitioner
- Evidence of community involvement
