Introduction

The Bachelor of Dental Science is a comprehensive undergraduate program designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and expertise necessary to excel in the field of dentistry.

  • Admission: Selection for entry to the Bachelor of Dental Science is a two-stage process with applicants first being selected for interview based on UMAT (Undergraduate Medical Admissions Test) score (domestic students) or GPA (international applicants)

Admission Criteria

The following selection criteria will be adopted when assessing applicants:


  • A demonstrated interest in, and understanding of, rural and regional Australia, oral health inequalities, and dental practice within these regions
  • High level academic ability
  • The capacity to communicate effectively
  • Evidence of skill in manual dexterity and spatial sense
  • Evidence of the understanding of teamwork and motivation to become a dental practitioner
  • Evidence of community involvement

Assumed Knowledge

The following NSW HSC or equivalent subjects are assumed knowledge for the Bachelor of Dental Science course:
