The ACT312 Collisions: 21st Century Performance subject introduces students to contemporary performance practices in the late 20th and early 21st century from a theoretical and practical perspective.
Subject Description
The subject uses a thematic approach to analyse performance concepts including: postmodern performance, the body as text, post-dramatic theatre and the space and place of performance. Students engage in critical discussion and reflection about the work of leading practitioners and apply their understanding of concepts by creating their own thematic mediated performance.

The subject is available in Session 1 with 30 places on the Bathurst Campus.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

Syllabus
This subject will cover the following topics:
- Radical concepts: Influences and concepts of performance from the 1970s to the present
- Body Works: An examination of the body as text in physical theatre
- Hybrid performances: Post dramatic approaches to text
- Spaces of Engagement: An exploration of festival, online and site-specific performance
- Creating a mediated performance
