Program Overview

The program EEL422, The Impact of Online on Distance Education, is a comprehensive course that examines the impact of online technologies on distance education. Distance education was already well established when the Internet became public, but the online environment provided an avenue to extend the modes of communication, resulting in synchronous and asynchronous forms of educational/training delivery.


Subject Description

This subject will examine the ubiquitous nature of networked and mobile technologies and social media in the business, government, and education sectors and the opportunities they provide for access and innovation. Discussion covers various issues, problems, and solutions related to online learning, professional development, and credentialing. Topics include knowledge management, performance improvement, delivery of learning and development, online student services, mobile technologies, and evaluating learning and development.
