NUT422 Nutrition and Dietetics Synthesis
Subject Description
Using the principles associated with clinical reasoning and reflective practice, students will demonstrate that they have synthesised and integrated the knowledge and skills gained in the various areas of dietetics practice. A major practice-based, independent learning project will be undertaken and reported in a fourth year seminar and conference program. This subject has no practicum component.

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

This subject will cover the following topics:
- quantitative and qualitative nutrition research methodology in dietetics or public health nutrition
- systematic review of the literature
- critical appraisal of the literature
- evidence-based nutrition and dietetic practice
- ethical approach to nutrition research
- undertaking a project involving a research question related to clinical dietetics or public health nutrition
