The PHS420 Physiotherapy Clinical Practice subject is a 12-week clinical placement that allows students to demonstrate their skills and abilities in client assessment, diagnostic decision making, and program planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Students are assumed to have completed PHS415 prior to enrolling in this subject.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should be able to:

• Perform the duties required of an entry-level physiotherapist, including the application of clinical reasoning to the assessment, planning, and implementation of physiotherapy intervention in the management of a client's condition.

Syllabus

This subject will cover the following topics:

• A review and practice of all entry-level competency units as outlined in the APCS (1994) document.

Workplace Learning

This subject contains a Workplace Learning component.

Program Details

• The subject contains three components: cardiopulmonary, musculoskeletal, and an elective.
• Students will be required to work in a professional manner and contribute to their unit where possible.
• On completion of this subject, students will have been assessed for their final level of competency.
