Program Overview

The Master Research (Environmental Science) P/T (128) is a research subject available to students enrolled in an appropriate Higher Degree by Research within the School of Environmental Sciences. This program allows students to work directly with their supervisory team to undertake an appropriate research project, culminating in the completion of a thesis/dissertation to be submitted for examination.

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should be able to:

  • Develop a research hypothesis or question that is soundly embedded in the context of the current body of knowledge in the field
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of research principles and methods applicable to their field of research

  • Disseminate their research via a range of media and be able to coherently defend their work to specialist and non-specialist audiences
  • Apply knowledge and skills to plan and execute a piece of research that generates a substantial contribution to the field in the form of a research thesis
