The REC210 Outdoor Recreation Field Skills 3 subject is designed to develop the knowledge and skills required to lead and manage groups of people in outdoor recreation activities. Effective leadership and communication skills are developed in real-life settings, with a focus on minimising the impact of outdoor recreation activities on the natural environment.

- lead groups in short-duration outdoor recreation activities
- contribute leadership in advanced level, long-duration outdoor recreation activities
- minimise the effects on the environment of outdoor recreation activities
- give clear instruction whilst leading groups
- manage first aid response in remote and/or isolated areas

This subject will cover the following topics:
- Development of outdoor recreation field skills
- Leadership and facilitation
- Group dynamics, conflict resolution and effective communication
- Environmental impact of outdoor recreation
- First aid and emergency response
