Online Bachelor's in Professional Studies

The Online Bachelor's in Professional Studies is a fully online degree program that develops the transferable skills that today's employers need. The program is designed to be flexible, allowing students to customize their coursework to meet their individual needs.

Program Overview

The program focuses on developing broadly defined industry focus areas, with a four-course requirement that is intentionally flexible to meet individual needs. Students can examine large issues and trends in their current or future field, sharpen skills learned in the BPS Core Courses, develop new skills to complement or strengthen personal growth, and work collaboratively in diverse groups across subject areas on a real-world problem.

Becoming a T-Shaped Professional

The program aims to develop T-shaped professionals, who have depth in their area of interest and breadth to see and think from different perspectives. Employers are looking for professionals with this skill set, which is lacking in today's workplace.

Core Courses

The program consists of six core courses that develop key skills, including:

• Design Thinking
• Systems Thinking
• Understanding Data These courses build on each other, teaching students how to identify patterns, interpret data, work with others to solve problems, and make informed decisions.

Depth of Experience

In addition to the core courses, students will choose courses in an area of focus that connects to their goals. This allows students to build deep knowledge by practicing the skills and processes they learn in the core of the Professional Studies program.

Capstone

The program culminates in a capstone project, where students demonstrate what they've learned by creating an electronic portfolio. Students will integrate skills learned in the six core courses in a self-designed, real-world project of their choosing.
