Program Overview
The Independent Interventional Radiology Residency is a one-year program for those who have previously completed ESIR, or two years of IR training after a DR residency.
Educational Components
Weekly Lectures
The program includes weekly didactic lectures for residents on a wide variety of topics in IR. Faculty from other departments, such as the Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine and the Department of Surgery, also give guest lectures.
Weekly Conferences
Residents attend at least one conference every week, including:
- Tumor boards
- Morbidity/mortality conference
- Vascular anomalies conference
- Cerebrovascular conference
Quarterly Journal Club
The program features a quarterly journal club where current research being published in IR is discussed, ensuring residents can critically analyze study methodology.
