The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management offers a broad educational approach to a career in the hospitality industry. Its varied course of study prepares students with both the management theories and operational competencies necessary to enter any segment of the industry upon graduation.
About
In addition to the university's general education requirements, students take classes specific to the industry, including an introduction to hospitality, human resources management, organizational behavior, facilities management, hospitality law, and a course in leadership, management, and ethics. Students also study food sanitation, food service operations, cost control, career development, financial and managerial accounting, financial management, hospitality service management, and operations and strategic management.

Requirements
The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management requires a total of 120 credits, including general education requirements, major degree requirements, and general electives.
General Education Requirements
- First Year Seminar: 3 credits
- English Composition: 6 credits
- Second Year Seminar: 3 credits
- Constitutions: 4 credits
- Mathematics: 3 credits
- Distribution Requirement: 19 credits
Major Degree Requirements
- Hospitality College Core Requirements: 51 credits
- Culminating Experience Requirements: 6 credits
- Work Experience: 1,000 hours of work experience in the hospitality industry
- Hospitality Management Electives: 15 credits
General Electives
- 10 credits of general electives
Areas of Concentration
Six concentrations are available for interested students:
- Event Design and Management Concentration: Provides general knowledge and skills needed by event professionals.
- Gaming Management Concentration: Provides general management knowledge and skills associated with the gaming industry.
- Hospitality Beverage Management Concentration: Provides general management knowledge and skills required to be successful in the beverage industry.
- Human Resource Management Concentration: Provides general knowledge and skills needed by human resources professionals in the hospitality industry.
- Innovative Restaurant Management Concentration: Provides general management knowledge and skills associated with the foodservice industry.
- PGA Golf Management Concentration: Provides students with the academic knowledge and experience necessary for a career in the golf industry.

Notes
- All students must complete 1,000 hours of work experience in the hospitality industry.
- Must complete a minimum of 36 credits of upper-division Hospitality courses in resident credit.
- Cannot earn credit for both FAB 410 and FAB 468 as they are deemed duplicate credit courses.
- All culminating courses must be completed at UNLV.
