Tutorial Action Programme (TAP)

The University of Alicante's Tutorial Action Programme (TAP) is a strategy for improving educational quality, offering students support and advice at the beginning, during, and at the end of their studies. The programme is implemented in all the centers of the University of Alicante, with a person coordinating the functions, leading a team made up of tutors and student mentors.

Mobility and Exchange Programmes

The Faculty of Sciences, along with the UA International & Mobility Programmes Office, manages a comprehensive mobility programme with actions covering the following objectives:

  • Encouraging the University of Alicante's internationalisation actions to promote the mobility of the University members
  • Promoting the learning of languages for teaching and research purposes
  • Boosting the students' training at other national and international universities
  • Allowing university students to perform work placements at foreign companies and, thus, improving their qualifications

Academic External Internships

The Faculty of Sciences manages a work placement programme aimed at students who have successfully passed 50% of undergraduate credits and/or meet the requirements stated on their syllabi. The main goals of such work placements are:

  • Allowing students to apply and complement the knowledge acquired in their academic training to pre-professional activities
  • Linking the needs of the job market to the University training activities

Final-Year Undergraduate Project

All the official undergraduate degrees must be completed by preparing and defending a final year project, which must be done in the final phase of the studies and be aimed at the assessment of competences associated with the degree.

Language Teaching Competence

The requirements for access to public service are set by the specific call for each public examination contest. However, taking the 2020 call as a reference and considering that the Teaching Competence Certificate in Valencian is no longer the linguistic requirement, the next calls for public examination contests will most likely establish the requirement to accredit the C1 level of knowledge of Spanish and C1 for Valencian.

Undergraduate Coordinators and Teachers

The Faculty of Science has implemented an Internal Quality Management System that fosters teaching coordination, both horizontally and vertically, and ensures the quality of all its degrees.

Applicable Regulations

The University of Alicante has approved the regulations governing the permanence of students enrolled at the University of Alicante in studies leading to the undergraduate degrees referred to in Royal Decree 822/2021.

Assessment of Learning Outcomes

The UA Governing Council has issued regulations on assessment and marking procedures and criteria, programmes and examination sessions, publication of marks, the mark review and complaint procedure, and completion and modification of final mark records.

Curriculum Adaptation

These are the educational strategies that allow students access to and promotion in the ordinary curriculum while at the same time guaranteeing the possibility of acquiring the professional competences and academic content established by the university degrees that enable them to practise professionally.

Credit Recognition and Transfer

Credit Recognition is the approval by a university of those credits which, having been obtained in other official degrees, in the same or another university, are counted for the purpose of obtaining an official degree in other universities.
