Undergraduate Degree in Tourism
The Undergraduate Degree in Tourism is a comprehensive program designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of the tourism industry. The program is structured to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to succeed in the field.
Admission Profile
The recommended entry profile for admission to the Bachelor's Degree in Tourism is Social Sciences. Students with a background in Humanities are also encouraged to apply. The program is designed for students who have an interest in learning about the economic, social, and regional reality of their environment, as well as those who possess a desire to undertake business initiatives in the tourism sector.
Undergraduate Pathways
Admission to this degree course is open to any applicant who meets one of the following entrance requirements:
- Spanish Baccalaureate with a University Entrance Exam (PAU)
- Previous Baccalaureates with or without a pass in the University Entrance Exam (PAU)
- Vocational Education
- Students from education systems in countries of the European Union or other states with which Spain has an international agreement
- Students from foreign education systems
- University degrees and other similar qualifications
- University entrance exam for students over 25
- Access on the basis of professional experience (applicants over 40 years of age)
- Access to applicants aged 45 years or more by means of an exam
Spanish B2 Accreditation for Admission
Regardless of the fact that some subjects may also be taught in Valencian and/or English, given that the teaching is in Spanish, students from non-Spanish-speaking countries are required to have a B2 level of Spanish, certified according to the Regulations establishing the certificates of knowledge of Spanish at the University of Alicante.
Admission Marks by Academic Year
The admission marks for this degree can be improved by taking specific modules of the University Entrance Exam (PAU) as indicated in the table below with their respective weightings.
Admission Procedure
In order to apply for a place, the procedure and pre-enrolment periods established each year must be observed. Applicants admitted to a course must formally register within the timescale established annually in the enrolment calendar.
Adaptations
The Faculty offers intensive language courses to foster the achievement of an adequate level in German or French.
Credit Recognition and Transfer
The University of Alicante Regulations on Credit Recognition and Transfer in Official Studies is currently in the process of adaptation to Royal Decree 822/2021 of 28 September. Recognition is understood as the acceptance of credits -by a university- which have been obtained in official courses, in the same university or a different one and counted for the purpose of obtaining an official degree.
Transfer of Record for Undergraduate Continuation of Studies
The transfer of academic record is possible for students who wish to continue their undergraduate studies at the University of Alicante. The transfer of record requires the prior admission of the student to the corresponding degree.
