External Practices for the Degree in Geography and Land Use Planning
The external practices module is optional and materializes in the study plan through the subject 33098 External Practices, equivalent to 6 credits and 150 hours, of which 120 hours are face-to-face practices in the company, 15 hours for the preparation of the report, and 15 hours for the meeting of information and orientation and tutoring.
Requirements for Enrollment
- Having passed 60 credits of basic subjects.
- Having passed 60 credits of compulsory subjects.
Responsible for Practices
- Antonio Prieto Cerd嫕
- Salvador Palaz鏮 Ferrando
Offer of Practices
To take the External Practices subject, you must find a company/institution to carry out the practices. This process will serve as "training" for the real job search.
To find a company/institution where you can do your practices, you have several possibilities:
- Through the practice offers from companies/institutions that have been accepted by the Faculty for the current academic year and can be viewed through UACloud/Practices in companies.
- List of companies/institutions where students of the Degree in Geography and Land Use Planning have done external practices in previous courses.
- Propose a company or institution that does not appear in that list and that meets the conditions of the Faculty's practice program. To do the practices there, a UA-Company agreement must be formalized; for this, the company must complete a form found here: Information for Companies and Institutions.
Once the company of interest is selected and before contacting it, it is essential to receive advice from your practice tutor.
The contact with the company or institution to request a place will be online, from your UA email, through a presentation letter, and attaching your curriculum vitae and the informative sheet of your academic record, which you can download from UACloud. Subsequently, if the company considers it appropriate, you can arrange an interview and manage the conditions of your practice (period, schedule, functions, and activities to be developed, if economic aid is granted or not, etc.).
Although the active search for the practice corresponds to you, you can ask for advice and guidance from the practice coordinators of your degree.
