The Master's Degree in Planning and Management of Natural Risks is an interdisciplinary program that aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand and manage natural risks.
Profile of Admission
This master's degree is aimed at those who hold a degree in Geography, Geology, Environmental Sciences, or related fields, with a preference for those with experience in activities related to natural risk management.
Requirements for Access
To access the master's program, students must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a Spanish official university degree or another degree from an institution of higher education in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) that qualifies for access to master's studies.
- Hold a foreign higher education degree that has been homologated to a degree that allows access to the requested studies.
- Hold a university degree obtained in a non-EHEA country, without the need for prior homologation of their studies.
Accreditation of B2 Spanish Level for Admission
A B2 level of Spanish is required for admission. This accreditation is not necessary for those who can prove nationality from countries where Spanish is an official language.
Admission Criteria
The Academic Committee of the Master's program is responsible for the admission process. The evaluation will be based on the following criteria:
- Degrees in Geography, Geology, Environmental Sciences, and related fields: 6 points
- Degrees in Economics, Sociology, Law, Architecture, and History: 4 points
- Regulated non-university degrees (higher vocational training) related to emergencies and civil protection: 3 points
- Professional experience will be valued with a maximum of 3 points
- Complementary training will be valued with 0.5 points per 200 hours of training in related subjects
Pre-Registration and Enrollment
Pre-registration is done exclusively through UACloud, and enrollment is done after the publication of the definitive lists of admitted applications.
Offer of Places
The offer of places for the master's program is as follows:
- 20 places for the academic year
Recognition and Transfer of Credits
The University of Alicante has a regulation on recognition and transfer of credits in official studies. The recognition of credits will be based on the adequacy between the knowledge associated with the subjects and/or courses taken by the student and those provided for in the study plan.
Recognition of Credits in Master's Studies
Credits from official studies taken in other universities can be recognized, provided they are related to the master's degree. The recognition of credits from non-official university studies or professional experience can also be considered.
Transfer of Credits
The transfer of credits requires prior admission to the study program. The credits transferred to the academic record of the new degree will not be taken into account for the calculation of the grade point average.
